Here’s What to Expect…

Preparation Steps

  1. Clear the Space: Before any installation begins, it’s crucial to move all furniture and belongings out of the area. Don’t forget the old flooring—it’s all got to go. This step ensures that your new SPC flooring has a perfect surface to rest on.
  2. Subfloor Preparation: The next step is all about creating an even canvas for your new floors. Your installer will check for any unevenness or imperfections in the subfloor, making sure it’s smooth and level. A well-prepped subfloor is essential for a flawless SPC installation.
  3. Acclimatize the Flooring: SPC flooring needs a couple of days to get used to its new environment. Boxes of the flooring will be left in the room to acclimatize, ensuring they adapt to the room’s temperature and humidity before installation begins.

Lay It Down

  1. Underlayment First: An appropriate underlayment will be placed first to provide a stable foundation for your SPC flooring. Your installer will choose a great option that suits the specific needs of your flooring selection.
  2. Planning the Layout: The direction in which the floorboards will be laid is an important consideration. Once decided, it’s time to start the installation. Don’t forget the expansion joints; they are crucial, just like with laminate flooring. It’s also highly recommended to glue the floating floor in areas exposed to direct sunlight to prevent warping or shifting.

Finishing Touches

  1. Install Trims: Trims and moldings will be installed to cover the gaps between the floor and the walls, giving your room a polished, professional look.
  2. Clean Up: Once everything is in place, your installer will clean up the area, leaving you with a fresh, spotless new floor.

Now, step back and enjoy your new, stylish COMO SPC flooring!
